Okay. There is currently an AWESOME indoor rock climbing wall at the YMCA South Metro in Jacksonville, FL. BUT I just found out yesterday that they are closing that Y. Now I have no idea where I can climb. Does anyone know if a indoor rock wall is going to be opening in Jacksonville, FL?

That's too bad! A friend of mine is moving out there and was looking forward to having that wall to use. I don't know of any others in the area but would be interested if you find something!

Do we seriously need three threads about this?

Just found out they will keep this wall til the end of July! Then we will see what happens.

And hey! If you were loosing your only rock wall I'm sure you'd be trying to find another!

Like I said earlier, If I was in your position, I'd be trying to move somewhere with real rock walls.

Choosing to post this question in the Sport Climbing forum = FAIL.

Then build your own wall. I am sure that all of the newly displaced climbers wouldn't mind helping you out.

I have a 9 year old son who is crazy about climbing, he'll climb anything! we just came back from a cruise and we went to atlantis, paradise island, for the day and they had very challenging walls. He climbed the 45 ft wall very easily and then the trainer had him climb it again without using pegs for his hands (only the wall itself). He again did it easily so he had him climb a 30 ft wall with no pegs! only using cracks in the wall. although this was harder he did it and was so pumped about doing it that all he wants to do now is climb. I just heard about the South Metro YMCA, is there anything else I can do to help him in his newfound passion. is there any trips we can take close by to FL? I may be going to Cuba this summer (that's where I am from) and read some people saying that it was a good place to climb, does anyone has info about that? any info would be appreciated so that I can help my son!
