Am planning a big trip to Africa this summer and want to get to the Rocklands for a month or so of bouldering in September. Anyone with experience: is it possible to take public transport there? is it possible to rent/buy a pad once there?? Thanks in advance for any help. Jeff

Been to SA twice and climbed on one trip (outside of Joburg). This site helped a ton when finding places to climb: http://www.climb.co.za/ I do not believe the train makes it up that far. However, renting cars is extremely easy and cheap, ~$50/week for a Toyota Tazz. Ask around the forum I posted, there are a ton of climbers in Cape Town and I'm sure you could hitch a ride with somebody.
