I'm curious - do you own two pair of the same shoes in different sizes? I know some people have a pair of comfort shoes and another pair of the same model a half or full size smaller as performance shoes. Others have indoor and outdoor shoes, or crack and face shoes. In other words, instead of having say a pair of radically cambered shoes for difficult routes and a pair of neutral shoes for easier terrain, do you have two pair of the same shoes, but different sizes for different purposes? If so, describe. Thanks!

Iīve got several pairs of la sportiva miuras. They fit my foot incredibly well and they are a super all round shoe that works on everything from overhanging sport to long trips in the mountains. A smaller pair for sending projects and a slightly larger one for long days in the mountains. They are my go-to shoe that get used for pretty much everything except indoor climbing in winter ( I got a cheap pair of mad rock flash ) and bouldering ( la sportiva solution ).

No but I am thinking about going a half size lower in my 5.10 Gambits. Heck, maybe even a full size. These shoes when they are dry and when I first put them on are tight but once I wear them for a few hours seem to stretch a tad. ...oh wait..maybe it's my foot shrinking

maybe Iīm misunderstanding you slightly here, but my belief is that if you donīt want to take your "cragging shoe" after climbing a route, itīs too large. a shoe for long multi pitch routes shouldnīt be comfy enough that you can keep them on for a while :)

Yes, I've got two pairs of 5.10 Verticals. They fit the shape of my feet well and have been resoled more than a few times. One pair for warmer days and the other is a size larger for wearing socks under in colder weather.

Two pair of Miura VS. First pair stretched more than I expected. Got the second pair for free and a half size smaller and they seem perfect. First pair I wear for more casual climbing. They don't outside edge as well.

Yeah, I have a pair of size 40 of Lasports muiras for sport climbs . My buddy bought a pair of 41s that were too small for him so I now have them and use them for multi pitch trad.

Unfortunately....I have a pair of Mad Rocks (yeah, yeah) I used for all day climbs. Bought a second pair - "same size" - they're not. (My "performance, can't wear them too long" shoes are La Sportiva's).

They stay on my feet like a helmet stays on my head, like a harness stay on my waist, like a prussik cord stays on my haul loop unless I'm actively using it.

Yes. My first pair of 5.10 Sirens I ordered in size 6.5 (street shoes size 7), I wore them out happily, and resoled them. They stretched, and are now very comfortable for crack climbing and for all-day wear. All subsequent pairs of Sirens that i have owned were/are size 6. I don't resole them anymore. So I have a pair in size 6, and an old pair in size ~7 (after stretching), and I use them for different climbing.

I have 4 different pairs of shoes in 3 different sizes. One of them I just bought too small. One was just a little too small, but it worked fine. if they made shoes in 1/4 sizes I would know my size. I have ordered split sizing, two different sizes in the same shoe. That was cool. It gave the perfect fit, because most people have different sized feet anyway.
