I went climbing the other day and was doing some top roping. One of the anchors that I set up ended up rubbing the rock and getting torn up. What I want to do is get about 50 feet of static rope, put tubular webbing around it and set up an anchor that way. Where is a good place to get cheap static rope in short lengths (50 feet or so)? I checked out gearexpress.com and they have some, but I was wondering of somewhere else where I could get some.

Inner Mountain Outfitters I get all my long pieces of static rope that I use for caving from them. They are a small company but will take care of you. [ This Message was edited by: jerrygarcia on 2002-12-22 18:12 ]

try your local climbing shop, normally they will have some static line near the runners and all that stuff, just have them cut it to the desired legnth
