Simple
1- Get 3/64" 7x19 or similar size stainless steel cable wire from ebay ( $10+- for 50 feet)

2- Get aluminum fishing sleeve #55 ( $4 for set of 150 )

3-Use electrical connector crimping tools and cut and replace the old cable with new one
4- pull test the cable to make sure you are not going to die
