Sungam, thanks. JT, think about it. It is not a personal slam. Why is that you take it as such? The statement was more to the point of how the Internet has a new dialog and some don't follow it . I admit I have shity spelling and grammar and have stated I will Try to correct it. Even if that means using "bold" instead of caps to emphasize a word. What I was stating though, is if one needs to see proper punctuation all the time , and feels a need to point it out all the time, an it gets under their skin so badly,,,,,,,,. Maybe said person needs a chill pill and should come back to practicality.

Ya, seriously Jay, come back to practicality with the rest of us. You're the only one keeping you in impracticality.

How is it that stuff like ",,,,,," happens? How is it even possible? I get that it's supposed to be an ellipsis on steroids, but it's just so far off.

"',,,,,,,," that is a extended pause, a pause that is taking time to think before an action. Or to leave another with thought before the next statement. At least that what I use it for. After all a comma is a pause in the sentence, so multiple comma's would be an extended pause. This was my thinking but it was pointed out already it is not needed. I did that one to be funny.

A comma can be a pause. A period is a longer pause. multiple periods can be an extended pause... ... but multiple commas is just crackheaded.

A period ends a sentence, making it a stop. So wouldn't multi periods be just as annoying? Hmmm, the litterary council will surely have to be notified and questioned.

There you go, using caps instead of bold. How smart is it to insult yourself. I thought we went over this stereotyping stuff on here already.

A series of three periods is called and elipsis, and is used "to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought, or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence" (or to replace an ommitted word, though Dostoyevski is the only person I have ever seen do this).

It's pretty common practice to leave out words and replace them with an ellipsis. It's perhaps the most common when quoting someone else. It's especially useful for misrepresenting what somebody said!
