I know it sounds crazy but it really helps. My friend and I were bouldering on his wall in his garage and there happened to be a car jack there. Just joking around I asked him to jack my foot up using it to see if I could reach a high step that I could not reach without it. We were laughing, but low & behold my foot easily got above where I could put it without the jack. Obviously you are not going to use it while climbing, but what it was able to do was teach me the mechanics of where my body needed to be to make that high step. After a little practice I was able to get the high step w/out the car jack! I know sounds completely crazy, but I am using it a bit at every training session (we get extra height with a milk crate). It is sort of like a power spot for your foot and I highly recommend it!

Or you could skip the jack and just have your friend 'power spot' your food.
