HELLO!!!! we are planning a climbing trip in mid March and are hoping to go to either Maryland or Virginia. Our biggest concerns are were we can find some really great spots to not only climb and camp but also hike if possible. We are open to any suggestions of other locations close by. Keep in mind were coming from Montreal and would prefer not to have too long of a drive. so yah good spots on the east coast in Mid march for climbing hiking and camping. AND if possible... fishing? THANKS!!!!!!! Nadine-

I think you're confused. the good climbing (for the region) in is in WV and KY, not VA and MD. Are you actually coming to DC for some specific reason and looking for climbing opportunities on the side?

The New River Gorge has world class climbing and white water rafting. It also has a ton of hiking, mountain biking and fly fishing. Lots of camping options available including the new AAC land.
