Hey,

I live in Central Ontario, just North of Toronto. I know there is a section on the site that specifically talks about routes but its a bit spotty. Anyways, I was thinking about planning a 3-4 day trip and was wondering where the best outdoor (preferably Sport) climbing is. I'm a 5.10 outdoor climber and have climbed in Alberta.
Definitely interested in some climbing closer to home though.

Any help would be great! Wink

This is probably the most complete set.

While I am not supper familiar with southern ontario there isn't a whole lot of moderate sport climbing to be had and most of what there is run out. There is however LOADS you can do on TR and Trad.

How far do you want to drive? What time of year? (Soon?)

There's a bunch of climbing in south-western Ontario, on the Niagara escarpment -- but most of that is day-trippable for you, so maybe not what you'd want for a 3-4 day trip.

At about a 6.5 hour drive, Montagne d'Argent is a good choice for moderate sport climbing, and they also have camping on-site. Some good info: http://www.thecrag.com/...ada/montagne-dargent. (And, if you go to MdA, Val David is not far -- less than an hour for a side-trip day.)

The Red River Gorge, in Kentucky, at a 10 hour drive might be farther than you want to go for a 3-4 day trip, but is an excellent sport climbing destination. But, probably not a good summer destination as it gets warm down there. Probably wouldn't want to go past late May (maybe mid-May). There's an excellent RRG route database at: http://www.redriverclimbing.com/RRCGuide/.
