Hey,
I am in the process of filming a climbing documentary about eastern US climbing. It will cover the whole eastern coast not just a couple states.

I am in need of your help for locations that you want to get out there. Also if you would like to be part of the documentary, from just being filmed climbing and or interview please let me know.

I am located in Upstate South Carolina and plan to start in this area.

Ummmm, how would we be able to suggest locations when we don't know what the doc is about, other than "east coast climbing" which, by definition, provides you with a list of locations?

The Documentary is going to be mostly about trad climbing but will include sport and maybe some bouldering in GA,SC,NC,VA,WV,KY,DC area all the way up to ME. Since that is a pretty hefty list of state and thousands of climbs. I would never be able to fit them all in a 90 min Doc maybe a little less.

I plan on showing this in the Atlanta Film Fest in 2016.
and therefore don't have to long to film this around are year.
This Doc is low budget, as I am a student, But I have all the production equipment needed my only expenses are my time, travel cost, licensing music if I can not find some great locally supportive bands, FILM PERMITS and my entry cost into film festivals

I am writing my script now and I would like the best known secrets of the eastern US and even well known climbs in this area.

I need to achieve a list of locations to film. As every state has there on permitting for filming on state park land and the same goes for Federal. I'm not filming this to make money, but is being classified as a documentary and with professional production equipment I cannot get by with an recreational videos. I have a love for climbing and my home here in the carolinas, and there is not any decent climbing films of the east coast.

And Thanks CamHead I will send you a PM with my contact info so I can take you up on the New River Gorge as I am planing to film there.

Thanks,
John

I would suggest North Conway, NH - it's great trad, beautiful granite, and manages to kick my ass every time I am there. I also suggest Acadia National Park in ME. There are beautiful granite cliffs at the Precipice and climbing above the ocean at Great Head (and Otter Cliffs, but that is definitely crowded on weekends - classic climbing, though).
