We have had a Trip planned for bishop from about the 28th through the 4th of jan. I've heard rumors that there is a foot of snow on the ground in the buttermilks. Could any locals verify this? The weather doesn't look like it will straiten up for us while we are supposed to be there. We're coming from Oklahoma; could anybody give me some suggestions for other good winter destinations(besides mexico:-)) Bouldering, sport climbing and single pitch trad is all fine. Thanks. ~Arnold

I'm in Flagstaff and its been pretty warm for the past few weeks. Still a bit cold for camping at night (below freezing), but I bet some of the lower elevation places south of here are prime. Its been a really unseasonably warm and precip free January. Get on the web and start looking at temperatures near climbing areas.

Most of southern california areas are warm, including j.tree. So is red rocks and arizona, check out specific areas, might try a variety if you have the time. Or check out the routes on the site for more information.Good luck.
