Does anybody have any information on the Big Bend Bouldering area. I think it is somewhere in castle valley. Are there any guidebooks available that cover the area. I am thinking about cruisng through that region over new years and am trying to get all the beta I can. Thanks.

Big Bend bouldering area is on River Road just north of Moab. It is just past the Big Bend camping/picnic area, and almost directly underneath Dolomite and Lighthouse towers-the most impressive towers directly above the road. You can see chalked up boulders from the road.

The climbing is very atypical for Moab-steep with big holds. There is limited beta on my site - www.climbingmoab.com under the River Road section. Kevin Chase's guide has more complete info-you can pick that up at Pagan Mountaineering in Moab, and they can also give you beta. There are usually people there as well.

Have fun
