First of all, I'm nowhere NEAR being able to highline yet... I'm just curious. Those of you who have, when did you start highlining? Is there any practice you can do?

Sorry bro, wish I could help you out, but I'm not great with the highline advice. Ammon would be the best help. Try to send him a PM..he's a pretty busy guy. Matt

Work up to it. Get to the point where you can walk any line, any length, any tension with confidence. Then just start raising the height. When you are comfortable with the max height that you can jump from, then move into rigging one with a leash. If you comfortable with any type of line, the transition should not be too bad.

I suggest trying the one in my front yard sheldon. Man it's a hard one. about forty feet between two trees. but you can only start one the side closest to my house because if you fall on the other side you'll hit a big rock and that would suck.

i suggest rigging a apprx. 3ft - 4ft high line and work on mantleing onto it, because when u fall off a highline you need to be able to get back onto it.

If you have a properly set up overhead rope (location permitting) anyone can highline. My ex-girlfriend walked back and forth (holding onto the tether) and she can't walk across a lowline.
