Looking for some good places to climb outdoors in eastern NC. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Also looking for a partner to climb with.

I don't know of any areas in eastern NC. Probably the closest areas are north of Winston-Salem. I live in Wake Forest and its about a 2 hour drive for me. I would guess it to be another hour and a half from Greenville. Good road though. Just take Hwy 64w to I-40w. There are several areas in close proximity to each other. Pilot Mt., Sauratown, and Moores Wall are about 30 minutes north of Winston. Stone Mt. is about another 45 minutes northwest. Your best bet for stuff like toproping is going to be Pilot. Its a short hike to the climbing area and most of the popular routes have bolted top anchors. It does tend to get crowded on the weekends. I can give you more detailed info if you need it.
