I'm planning my first climbing trip to Bishop for bouldering (and/or Owens climbing if can find partner) for Memorial weekend. BUT How hot it could be at that time? Where to camp? need a tent? Anyone will be there?? (If possible, I'd prefer to have bouldering/climbing partners.) BTW, would the Tioga Hwy open before that weekend?? (this concerned me the most!!) Any thought?

also planning a trip to Bishop - I have a campground reservation - it's 6 hrs. from the Bay Area. Did you find out any more information about Tioga Pass? Is there any other way to get there?

I don't think you can climb at Owens right now because they are increasing the water levels. you might want to call the shop in Mammoth and ask.

I have a campground at Rock Creek Lake - tent only, sounds pretty rustic. But I may not go if I can't climb - what is the point? yah, mule days...

anizasifan? It would surprise me if the valley were closed! My girlfriend was there 10 days ago, and have a friend who was supposed to be there the past weekend. they have climbed there quite a bit- 3 times within the last 2 months. Let me know what you find out!

Due to uncertainty of Tioga Pass open day, I've changed my mind. I think I'll go Yosemite instead.

it was 90 degrees at the Happies today. The cave problems at the Sads were good...about 75 degrees.
