the only other i read regularly is ar15.com. it's shooting related. for me it has a significant amount of information, entertainlent, and sense of community. one of the reasons i joined rc.com is because i was seeing similar parallels.

Being a nerd does have something to do with it, but mostly, I just want the best headlamp I can get (make) for climbing and camping.
If you want light like you never thought possible, learn about flashlight there.
If you are adverse to nerds, stay away from canlepower forums.

Besides this one, I check in on Trailforums.com and Trailjournals.com(related sites). I've been keeping up with Highlander II and Trog's Journals as they hike the Appalachian Trail this year. I met them on the trail when I section hiked from Springer Mtn to Winding Stair Gap (Franklin, NC) between Mar 31'st through April 9th of this year. I hope to hike another 160 mile section this fall from Franklin to Hot Springs if time permits....
