I lead my first trad route yesterday. :D How much fun is trad climbing? Too much. There is nothing like sinking a nut into a bomber placement. Big props to all of you trad leaders out there, I have new respect for you. (I did before but I have more now) Just thought that I would share.

You will now realize that your paychecks should go to trad gear and not to rent, utilities, car, food or any thing else that is not important. Congrats on the lead.

Sorry but I am partly to blame! You should not have let me talked you in to starting trad. Please dont start blaming me when you have no money because you spent it all on trad gear. :D I agree with the above posts 1. Multi pitch 2. You will now have no money Brandon J.

Yeah, but you can blame Mark and Jay when you have to clean up after me. I lead exclusively on passive pro and I really sink it in. I don't pay rent anyway, or car payment, insurance, etc. so I can stop eating and buy gear!

rock on buddy... pretty soon you will understand the concept of a poor climber. Buying gear is so incredibly addicting.

This thread is too funny, And all too true! Trad teaches you what is truly important in life: Not women, not money, just all the gear you can get your hands on and a place to use it. You'll know you have enough gear when you need more than one person to carry it all. Warning: sudden cessation of trad climbing and/or gear purchasing may have severe withdrawal symptoms.

I am operating on BD Stoppers and #5 and #6 Metolius curved hexes right now. I do look forward to placing every type of pro in the near future since I am trying to find a buyer for my soul so that I can fatten up my rack
