I am seeking a jacket/pant combo that will perform in winter ice/mountaineering/skiing conditions, but all of the sites I've searched (patagonia, cloudveil, marmot) don't seem to offer these products yet. Now is when I have money, and I need new shell gear, so I'm looking for suggestions on where I can purchase these items. I've emailed the manufacturers and am awaiting a response. Also, any technical winter shell gear by these 3 brands that anyone has tried and liked? Thanks!

Mountain Gear is having a sale on some pretty nice stuff suitable for alpine/ice layers. Go to www.mgear.com - the MH Alchemy softshell is pretty sweet at that price, and was my second choice for a winter jacket this year (after my much super happy and excellent Pearl Izumi Crescendo - see my profile for a review). Good luck!
