holy crap that was freaky! i got to evacuate my building yesterday... 63 flights of stairs down. they say they may have to cycle blackouts throughout the city until power is stable again.

so strange - the city was pitch black last night.

i guess i'm off to work to get everything back online... :S

edit: they've declared a state of emergency... could be days until power is completely restored. no work today unless you're emergency personell...

still no cell phone service....

That was wild. So no work! why are you not packing to climb? 3 day weekend. now get out of here and go play. We didn't lose power so I have to work but am leaving early to climb. It will be hot on the rock...95F (35C to you ) Charlie

There is no power at my house, as we speak my yougurt and cheese is going bad and everything in my frezzer is going through a final defrost.

I bike 5 min down the road to get to work, and the bloody power is on there. Dang nabbit.

power has been on and off over the past day or so... sigh. radiohead concert is cancelled, and i'm still technically on call so i can't get away - that is if we could find an open gas station and care to line up to fill up the tank.

3rd world. no food at a grocery store. What were they selling? Toilet paper? No h20, that's sucks big time. So I gotta ask...can you bathe? Can you flush the toilets? This is harder core than wilderness camping. Hang in there. Charlie (Is the beer warm? better drink wine)
