I'm going climbing in Lake Tahoe, probably Big Chief or another good sport climbing area. I may or may not have a partner to go with, either way I'm looking for some people that want to either meet there or in Fresno area then on to Tahoe. Let me know.

i will be in lover's leap tuesday-thursday. i wouldn't mind checking out sugarloaf friday or saturday if you can lead that stuff. it's supposed to be pretty nice. i drive a white car with washington plates and will hopefully be camped at the main camping area at the leap.

Could be Hot. at Big Cheif and Sugarloaf. I think Big Cheif faces south. I only go there in the Winter. Sugarloaf is at 4,000ft.

Last weekend we bailed at 2:30 from the Leap it was 87*. Yesterday it was like 85* at Phantom Spires. Hot even in the shade. Climbing in the sun was out of the question.

There are some crags with steeper lines in the Fresno vicinity but your going to be looking long and hard for "GOOD" stuff. Someone had mentioned that there is still some potential for sport routes in the Mojave area, though I don't know where. Everytime I drive Tohachepi (spelling is wrong I know) I notice that large cliff band to the north of the freeway. Ever checked that thing out? I am sure the granite areas in the foothills must have a few steep cliffs, but its going to be a long hard look. Another option is the Sonora area which is with your 2 hours limit I think from Fresno. Finally, there is some nice looking limestone around Kern Limestone, but it looks to be a heinous approach which is more than likely why it hasn't been developed yet.

As for Sac-town, I see you mention you have a drill in your other thread. I can point in direction to some super steep and long (3 pitches +) stuff in my neck of the woods. If you want to arrange something for when you drive through the Sac area PM me.

That sounds pretty good. Did you know I'm only a foofoo sport climber? If I climb trad, my legs will get too big...all that hiking around and stuff. I'd love to hook up, but I'm pretty sure, like 100%, that I'll be sticking around bolted stuff. If you're still down though, I'll give ya more info when I get it.

just 'cause i like to climb trad doesn't mean i'm into alpine style approaches. i like to crag just as mucha s the next guy! but i said i'd be totally into climbing some sport nearby. i'm a the lover's leap camping area if you change your mind. only car with washington plates so far. :D
