I got a Xtra lg. Metolius Crashpad, i was wondering if anybody could tell me if i bought the right size? It seems too big-when i climb, the corners keep bumping into stuff and ruining my balance. Do other people have this problem, too? I notice that most people don't even use their pads for climbing, they just leave them on the ground. It's like wearing a helmet; it's your own back that will be broken if you choose to boulder without wearing a crashpad.

No offence but are not supost to wear it while you climb, it should be on the the ground to protect you when u fall. If u actually were climbing with it on your bak then you are the biggest moron ever. No offence er nething.
TO Use a crash pad effectivly
1) you put it on the ground and open it up.
2) place it where u belive u will fall
3) Climb and fall on it lol and have fun

Tartar sauce may cancel out the frenchy aftertaste!

It wasn't THAT bad...

As a matter a fact before I started climbing, when I always wondered how people climbed with huge pads on their back...

Thats pretty embarassing...

Wheres that delete button??!?!

Thank you, my favorite burnoff technique is to cruise around the Happys in dorky approach shoes and do a circuit of V0 highballs wearing a crashpad. Really..........

LoL!

Perhaps our definitions for trolling are different, but isn't this humor, as opposed to inciting arguments?

I've been climbing for about 25 years, mostly bouldering and mountaineering these days, as I am to lazy to rope up.
Hehe nice one dude, i had to check ur profile as soon as i saw it tho, i read that and just had this image of one of the old school climber dudes who newbies like me try to get advice off... sitting around giving advice on balance with crash pads and how to climb with it in front of u if u want to take a stomach fall :p
