Greetings, Read my eBay sale description for the full story, but the short version is that I have a brand new unused Silent Partner for sale for about $25 off retail price. Here's the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/...Item&item=3629660299 Thanks! Andy

Not that it's not worth it, but I doubt you'll see any bids with a starting price that high. Most climbers, especially ones that have been around long enough to know what one of those is for and have acquired enough desire to use it, tend to have some connections with retailers in the climbing industry. I haven't paid full retail for anything for several years and can get a new one from the distributor for significantly less than your $200 starting price. Hope you get the most money possible for it, but one of the keys to starting a bidding war is to give them a price low enough that they think they will be able to get a screamin deal -- and in the end someone wants it bad enough to get you the money you were looking for in the first place. Good luck. Ed

Ed's right. I would jump all over it if the bid was 75 dollars, and there's definately more climbers out there who would go a bit higher, because they have more money than me. ;) I'd lower the starting bid to something that says "screamin deal" and let it raise itself up. If you want to get your money back, can't you just return it?

I don't know of any store that will take climbing gear back. I have a Wren Silent Partner that has caught several falls of around 20 feet. (the way a silent partner works, almost every fall will end up about that far due to the slack and lack of a "TAKE" command.) From the outside, no one could tell the difference between his new one and mine. What company would risk that? Wayne

Thanks for the tips. We'll see what happens. I was just hoping to recoup most of my loss, but looks like that might not be possible. Here's hopin'. Andy
