Where in Chicago will you be staying/working? Downtown or the suburbs? Will you have a rental car or will you be relying on cabs and public transit?

definitely Hidden Peak if you'll be in the city. if you'll be in the 'burbs, check out Vertical Endeavors, though their bouldering isn't so great, but good tall routes.

I keep telling these kids. If you want to bolder in the city come to Fitplex. Yeah, it sucks it's in a health club but trust me on this recommendation. I've lived in the city for 3 years and have tried everything this city has to offer. I almost opened up my own gym but was turned away by the ridiculous zoning restrictions that one must abide by, not to mention the cash flow. But this is the only place where I can lift, workout and bolder. LPAC sucks. They don't have any boldering and everyone is too fake to even know what the hell is going on. It's too much of a show. Hidden Peak is good but it's small and doesn't have sufficient workout facilities (if you even call it that). Vertical Endeavors sucks. Way too far away, no boldering and the routes are weak. Lake Shore is solid once every few months to get that burn.

At Fitplex, we have a strong crew that pulls down hard. Come on Wednesday night (guys night). I work from 5-9. Guys get into the entire club for $6 and I promise you'll leave with your tips on fire.

Thanks,

I'll be downtown at the convention center. I'll try Hidden Peak and Fitplex. I'll be in Chicago for a week, so I'll climb more than once.
