What is the single most amazing thing you have seen while climbing or on a video etc... For me seeing Fred nicole cranking the one arms with the pinky threw me over the top. I can show non climbers that video and they will be immediatly hooked to climbing.

Because they are amazed by the shear power of climbers. It seems to inspire them in a way or manifest my love for the sport which in return they sometimes get into climbing and eventually hooked, hence the work hook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Can't remember where I saw it but there's a pic of a guy doing a front lever by pinching the underside of a trailsign. I think it was taken in the Flatirons. Anyone know of it?

The 1st Editon of 'Rock n' Road' has that picture in it. I don't think that's where it is originally from, but that's where I've seen it.

Dude, that was Fred Beckey and he's like 80. When you get past 70 you're allowed to do such radical things.

I know, I know, the shock is rude. But all too soon you'll be wearing that hat too.

Didn't see it in person, but the photos of John Gill doing the "one-armed lever" are amazing.

The praying mantis that did the roof traverse with heel hooks to a mantle on the roof vent of my tent while in Bishop. That was awesome, and inspired me to greater achievement.

My crowning achivement is/was nailing the crux move on Solid's Mom. You should've heard the screaming thereafter. Oh yeah, good times...good times.

I didn't see the ascent, but I've seen the problem: Garth Miller's "The Crippler" on East Mountain (Commanche Canyon) at Hueco Tanks. Highball V7/8, unrepeated, probably to remain so, done ground-up as a boulder problem with no toprope rehearsal.

My friend JT was in on the first ascent, spotting, working the problem a bit. It's probably the worst landing for a "boulder problem" I've ever seen: multi-tiered ledges, boulders, and ribs under a gently overhanging, 30-foot-tall iron rock wall with nothing but ever-diminishing little nipples and micro-crimps, with the crux coming way up high, like at 25 feet.

The deal, appparently, was that pads were placed on each level of the landing, and spotters would direct Garth's fall by slowing him a bit as he touched down on their level then pushing him down to the next set of pads, until he finally came to rest in a confined little pit at the very bottom, sandwiched between more boulder.

The stuff Jason Kehl is doing is certainly harder, physically, but I think the landings Kehl is dealing with, even though he's way-the-hell off the deck, are overall better. I honestly can't recall seeing a worse landing anywhere for something that had been bouldered out than on The Crippler. I don't know of any photos or video, unfortunately, but it's in the gully near Beer, Pizza, and a Three-Foot Toothless Girl, up the slabs and west from Tanks for the Mammaries.

Heinous. Go have a look if you're down there. The wall faces north and looks like it would be a 4-bolt sport route anywhere else.

I once saw this guy drive his mercedes 130 miles just to do this one problem like 50 times in a row. Im not sure what his name was, but damned if he didnt have the most luxurious and bouncy head of expensively conditioned locks I ever did see. I remember him saying that he special-ordered this conditioner from scotland and that it was like a hundred bucks a bottle. amazing!!!!!

If you weren't such tits you could easily find out from bf.com instead of needing someone to walk you across the street whilst holding your hand.

Excellent job at noticing the lack of creativity when I said "dumbass". Sometimes the simplest way of doing something is the most accurate.

Yo Solid, you are a tool! I bet you have been watching this post for the past 24 hours, just so you could come up with the extremely witty line" you are tits" YEah thanks for holding my hand while crossing the street. Mommy said to never talk to a stranger, so get the f%ck away from me! Sorry if I didnt realize that Centex was the bouldering spot. I thought it was the name of the video, etc...., but of course you the all knowing boulderer was able to point out my mistake, in such a mature and polite way. Dumbass, its Fu*kin brilliant. Im sure your ego and self esteem went through the roof after calling me a dumbass, im sure you even showed your girlfriend, "look see how cool Iam"! You know what you are so cool, can I have your autograph DUMBASS! :D
