castle rock above saratoga is excellent. good sandstone problems, with lots of slopers. stinson beach is decent, although personally i don't like the rock much, and mickey's beach is a quarter mile away and offers good sport climbing. the nut tree boulders in vacaville are a bit far away, but i hear they're not bad. there are a few random places scattered around.

Indian Rock in Berkeley or there's Castle Rock in the South Bay. If the weather isnt looking too good, Touchstone Climbing Inc. opened up a relatively new gym that's dedicated soley to bouldering. Its a pretty nice place, located in the heart of downtown San Jose.

In reply to: do you have any more info bouldering_fool? i tried looking it up and got liek the indian rocks but none of them were the one Web search 101. Go to www.altavista.com, and in the search words window, enter this: +"Indian Rock" +Berkeley This is the second hit I got. The 4th was pretty good too. You could also to the left column, Routes, United States->California->SF Bay Area, Indian Rock.

Castle Rock is your best bet if you want tons of great problems, but it's extremely weather dependent since it's sandstone. I really like Stinson, simply because it's just a cool place to hang out. Not too too much climbing, but enough for a totally relaxed afternoon. If you do end up going to the Touchstone San Jose bouldering gym, one word of advice, try to discharge static before you get a sip of water.

If your looking for a good bouldering traverse (60 meters or so) check out the Great Wall in Oakland, it is just a wall under the broadway overpass. Be sure to check out Indian Rock, but espically Mortar rock, which is right up the street.
