In January I plan on road tripping, starting in Halifax, Nova Scotia, heading through New England down south. Will probably check out climbing in Tennesse, and then head towards the mountains and hang in Nevada and California for a while. The trip home will likely be through Canada, not involving much climbing, but instead visiting friends. I was going to travel from mid January and try to arrive back home before my convocation in May. I would love to hook up with some people to travel with and split gas prices, maybe climb with too  , but I'll settle for company and gas. I'm pretty flexible as to where I'll be visiting, partners and travel companions will likely affect that. If anyone would be interested in joining me for any part of the trip let me know, PM or email: granite_grrl@hotmail.com To admins - placed in general instead of partners due to the range of locations I'll be in.

I'm an all of the above kinda girl. Doer of many, master of none. I started trad this summer, been bouldering/top rope on and off for a while, and i've done a little sport, but there's not much in Nova Scotia to be had so that's been limited (but I'm interested in trying more).

If you're looking to do some climbing in the Southeast, I would definitely be willing to show you around some. I live in Nashville, but I regularly climb all around the southeast, Foster Falls, King's Bluff, Rocktown, Red River Gorge, etc...I hope to hear from you! :)

When you get to the Gunks, go into Rock & Snow and ask for Jeremy Rice for partner recommodations. When you get to N. Virginia, look up Adam Heming (do a RC.com search). When you get to KY, hang out at Miguels Pizza place and you'll find partners (if its opened this winter, call). When you get to TN, go into Rock Creek Outfitters. Also, check out www.seclimbers.com for deep south hook ups. Have a blast :D And don't forget to trip report us!

This is fantastic, I'll be sure to get a hold of as many people who've replyed to me as I can when I'm in their area, or let them know in advance when I'll be in their area. The finalization of the trip schedule will revolve around money, which means I will have to wait till I get my car (will have to be after exams), see how much payments and insurance will be. I also have to run down to the bank this week and see if they'll sign me up for a line of credit, I'm coming out of university debt free, I have a job lined up, so I think I can handle borrowing a little money to keep climbing :P A friend of mine has let me see his Dixie Climbers guide book, I'm really excited about Tennessee, though a lot of the climbs seem a little stiff for my present trad leading abilities. But the area's huge (for someone used to Nova Scotia), I'm sure there'll be stuff that I'll have lots of fun on. School is killing me right now, but thinking about this trip and graduation is keeping me sane.

In Mid-Jan I will either be A) Starting a new semester of grad school, or B) Experiencing a realization of deep inner purpose to be dirtbagging my way across the country (yet again). If B, I'll stick my thumb out on the road and scope the traffic for Nova Scotia plates. If A, I would be more than happy to put up you and any entourage in my ample country abode, so I may live vicariously for a night through your dreams and aspirations. Fresh baked bread, hot showers, and all that good stuff. Drop a line if you're passing near Albany, NY. Happy Trails, MrKatzen

Drop a line if your voyages bring you to Bishop, home to boulders galore and steep, steep walls of the Owens River Gorge. I live in Mammoth where the snow is deep and the drive to balmy Bishop is short.
