This is a total random message, but i am moving out to australia in under a month - perth to be exact Is there any fellow cannucks out there? Just curious... Love to hook up with any one travelling out there to show me the ropes? what's this i hear about sport climbing needing something called 'hangers'? what the hell are those? k*

Haha, good old aussie hangerless bolts - or carrots as they'll be called there. It's basically just a bolt of some kind, ranging from a good bombproof stainless steel that's really thick, to a rusted out quarter incher that barely penetrates the surface. They're bought from a hardware store, filed a certain way, a hole drilled in the rock, they're pounded in, sometimes with glue. To clip it you need to place a bolt hanger on it - the way it works is one end is big enough to fit over the head of the bolt, but when you clip a draw through it the biner takes up enough room so that the bolt cannot come off. Carry the hangers in your chalkbag. Fun Fun Fun! Will

I’ll be in Australia on the 8th of January. I’ll be in the Blue Mountains to be exact. If you’re going to be scheduling any time in the East before you go to Perth look for me in the backyard of Blue Mountain Backpackers, in Katoomba. I’ll be the Canadian crashed in his tent. I’ll gladly climb with you.
