When thinking of ominous route names 40 oz. of justice (13.a) at The Red comes to mind. So does rectal exorcism (11.a)

Dang it Curt, now I gotta strike that name from the top of my "if I ever was to do a really runout climb near Phobos & Deimos in Tuolumne" list. (Yes, that eliminates the entire list.)

But my favorite, and way ominous if you've seen it up close (it was much more impressive before Kamps added a bolt in the middle of the 80' runout):

Ewe Must Be Kidding (Lamb Dome, Tuolumne)

boltdude,

Sorry that the name was already used. For those not in the know, Thanatos is a 5.12 thin crack climb in the South Dakota Needles, put up by Kevin Bein in the late 1970s. And.....

Thanatos is the Greek personification of Death.

No one's mentioned Tuolumne's Death Crack yet?

My personal favorite is Mr. Gone, an Epperson route at Canon Tajo.

Necromancer, the name of a crag I think, is pretty good, Red Rocks. Sensuous Mortician is a name of a route on the crag.

''Alive in a Bitter Sea'' and ''Excercising the Devils'' both put up By Warwick Baird on the Echo Point cliffs, Blue Mountains in the early eighties. Both are big multi-pitch scarefests that have barely seen any repeats and if you saw the territory they cross you would understand why.
Yikes!
