I go out to St. George Utah a couple of times a year to visit my parents. The climbing there is great. I have been wanting to go to Red Rocks and next month is the the trip. Any suggestions on sport climbs 5.10 and under that are not r or x rated. I like them bolted safely. I have Red Rocks Select but am looking for personal info. Thanks

There is a lot to choose from. Click the underlined links to these areas and you will find a plethora of 5.10 and under spurt routes.

The Panty Wall at the 1st Pullout is one of the most popular moderate sport areas in all of Red Rocks.

Get thee to the Black Corridor, and from there explore the entire 2nd Pullout to find all that you would need.

Here are some recommendations:

Panty Area
Panty Prow 5.6
Thong 5.7
Silk Panties 5.7
Boxer Rebellion 5.8
Brief Encounter 5.8

Magic Bus
Neon Sunset 5.8
Technicolor Sunrise 5.8

Black Corridor
Bonaire 5.9
Bon-ez 5.9
Vagabonds 5.10a
Lewd Crude and Misconstrued 5.9+
Dancin With a God 5.10a
Texas Tea 5.10a
Fools Gold 5.10b

The black corridor is all 5.9-5.11. It is however, not what I would call memorable. At the same pullout, Magic Bus is a lot nicer.

I do remember some things about Dark Corridor. A husband and wife bickering, a dog running between me and the person I was belaying, trodding all over my rope. People making flatulence jokes....

It might be fun to see if you could onsight everything there, but you wouldn't get a chance because it is too crowded.

Thanks tons for the info. You know how it is the first time you visit an area. I have done a few multi pitch routes a t Red Rocks but have never done the Sport thing. I had eyed the first and second pullout from Swain's book but your info will help as well. Thanks !

Not this time of year actually. In spring or fall, it is extremely crowded.

Magic Bus also has a 5.9 on it that is nice. Sorry, can't remember the name.

At Mass Production wall in Sandstone Quarry there are a few 5.9 and 5.10s. They are a little slabby though.

The Gallery at the second pull-out has a couple of 5.8s and 5.9s. A few 5.10s. It, however, will be very crowded as will Magic Bus and Panty Wall.

Have fun!

I'll give another thumbs-down vote for the Black Corridor, but our advice will go unheeded. I guarantee that the original poster will go there. Everybody does.
