I didn't konw where exactly to post it, since it's not exactly a "trip". But I got my first trad lead of the year in today on freezing rock and in diminishing light. Shiner (another user on this site) belayed the lead and I plugged the gear. He was going to second and clean but it just got too dark so I rappeled down and cleaned on rappel. It's been so freekin cold :D and wet/frozen up here, I was almost peeing me trousers with excitement to be leading on real rock again, and a nice trad crack at that, one I haven't done before (though I know it's not a "first ascent"). Hey, I live in Alaska and I can't climb year-round. Things like this are exciting to me. Just thought I'd display my satisfaction at being able to climb real rock again after more than 6 months of gym time.
