Tell me what you guys think about the lighting in these pics. They were all shot in golden hour light both evening and morning. Does the yellow cast feel distracting or does it give a warm feel. I'm not sure myself. I think both, so I'd like to hear what you have to say. Oh ya, this is my first photo post on this forum. Don't be afraid to point out something you don't like! Tell it like it is brothers and sisters!

Usually the topics contain one pic for critique, however in a situation like this where you ask for review on a specific aspect (morning/evening lihgting) it's OK.

Also topics where you are comparing two shot is acceptable.

The reasoning for this is so each pic gets equal weighting, and some pics don't get pushed down by others.

Cheers.

Now as for your pics:

The morning lighting works for the middle shot, but not so well for the others.

In the first one you have dark vertical shadows that could work, however you NEED to see the climbers hand in order for it to work. With it hidden the way it is, it frustrates the viewer.

In the third one you have very drastic shadows, especially around the climbers face and arm. The contrast is too high, and blows out the highlights in the rocks and flatens out the face and shadow detail.

The second phoot works, but if possible you might want to try and light your climbers face. Perhaps with fill flash or a reflector.
