I'm looking to buy a pair of men's climbing shoes good for a beginner, ok if their used as long as they're usable. Size 40.5 or 41. Anyone selling a pair of La Sportiva Cliffs especially let me know. Thanks!

Find a shoe that fits well and is compatible with the climbing you have in mind. That may be a very technical shoe, might not. Just don't assume you need a clunker because you're new.

I frankly would not reccomend a "beginner shoe" to anyone unless they are planning to do long trad routes. Other than durability and comfort- they really have no advatages. In my experience, beginners will climb better in an "expert" shoe. There are definetly shoes that would not be best on a beginner- but the vast majority of begginers improve so fast that they are being held back by a beginner shoe long before it wears out.

In reply to: la sportiva cobra. damn cheap ($99), incredibly good shoe I think it would be difficult for a "beginner" to edge very well in a pair of Cobras unless they were sized so tight that the "beginner" was likely to quite climbing all together due to the pian.

Anyone selling a pair of La Sportiva Cliffs especially let me know. Thanks! I have the perfect shoe for you. Size 41 Boreal Ace. Ten times the shoe that the Cliff is. Performs better and lasts way longer. These are slightly used but still in near perfect condition. They are the original black and green colors so not only do you get a great shoe you own a classic. I want $40 for them + shipping and if you don't like em for any reason (fit, whatever) I'll give you everything but the shipping back. PICTURE http://www.frontier.net/...Detail%2045-55-b.JPG The black and green ones(in case you didn't know). PM or email me if interested. tedc@frontier.net
