I bought the bulk of mine from Metolius (sp?). I am very happy with them in general, but I also purchased some from several other companies for a bit of variation. You can check out some pics of the wall (as dated as they are) at http://www.code-express.com/ClimbingWall/

Synrock without a doubt. Put an assortment of holds from different companies on a wall and after a few weeks everyone will agree that the synrocks are their favorites. The texture, feel, and ergo shapes just make all the plastic holds feel like second class citizens. They are also the leaqst expensive holds for a given size.

Voodoo is the bestest! They're more durable than most hold companies, they have a pretty decent warrenty, and their models are fairly diverse.

I just got some new holds (medium patina edges) from Entre Prise and they're awesome. Boone Speed and Sharma are shaping for them now & they're coming out with some rad shit. http://www.epusa.com

I have been looking through the Climbing 2004 Gear Guide and the synrocks are considered the best deal. They are composed of a ceramic like mixture that is similar to sandstone. From what I have seen, the company has a good variety of shapes varying from insets, pockets, slopers, etc. Another interesting feature of their holds is that their texture can be changed by "acid etching." Though I am not familiar with the process I know that through it you can make the holds smoother or rougher. I was considering building a climbing wall in my house with these holds, but I have no where to build it. Climb on :D !

I think I have holds from just about everyone at this point. My favorites for feel are Atomik, Metolius, and Franklin. Outstanding service award goes to Atomik and Franklin. No problem with Metolius. They are fine, just the other two have gone above and beyond. Atomik is by far the best value. Call them up and get them for wholesale price.

I dig the stuff from so ill. it's different and has flavor. I still question how long the texture will last. I check out EP's new site www.epusa.com . they got some new stuff that has potential and they say they have a lifetime warranty. I haven't climbed on them yet, but the product looks ok.

synrock... especially the slopers and cobbles... you can retexture them when you clean them... it's like having a new hold....

Thanks for all the replies, but what about wooden holds. I am thinking about buying them from a local guy. I saw his work and it was nice.
