Whether or not a Reverso is a good purchase depends on what types of climbs you spend the majority of your time doing. For a gym climber it is not a goo purchase. For a person who spends 90% of their time doing multipitch trad climbs, I think it is a excellent device. This topic has been discussed a few times recently. Try doing a search, (Click "Search" in the upper menu) and type in Reverso). Here are a few to get you started. http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=1920&forum=40&7 http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=4384&forum=40&16 http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=6464&forum=40&18 Edit- After reading some of my old posts in those threads I noticed that I have changed my opinion about the device without me knowing it. And some of my advice is a little outdated. Be sure to read This thread also for the latest technical information. [ This Message was edited by: wigglestick on 2002-04-17 10:01 ]

I've been using one for over a year now. The only thing I don't like about it is the amount of friction when rapping on dbl. 10mm ropes; there's way too much!! I haven't used it in it's auto-locking configuration yet; probably this summer though. Make sure you check out Petzl's site and read the updates regarding belaying 2 seconds at the same time with smaller diameter ropes. Happy Reversoing, jj

Please read one of the several posts listed above all titled "reverso..." instead of posting it again.
