Anybody know what the conditions are like at Donner Summit and Lover's Leap, or when they might be ready? Any suggestions on guide books to the Tahoe area?

well...i was at the summit today and conditions were great...the snow is off most walls, minus goldilocks...though a lot of the snowshed cracks are still soaked...
dont know how it is at the leap--haven't got there yet...

The Leap was excellent the last two days. The parking lot is not yet open, but that didn't stop it from being crowded. There are a few patches of snow at the base of the Lower Buttress, but they are easily worked around. A few other spotty patches, but very little left now. Almost all the rock was completely dry, and the weather this weekend was perfect. 70s with breeze. Again, much more crowded than I expected, both on the main/east wall and Hosgback.
BTW: Chris MacNamara just put out a sweet new guide to South Lake Tahoe, I used it this weekend, and it, like all the rest, is quite well done.

I was thinking of going up there on Monday (May 17th). How are the conditions now? Also, las time I was at Snowshed, it seemed like it would be pretty easy to top rope most of the harder cracks. Is that the case?
