I will be touring around brazil in a few weeks and am interested in doing some climbing if i have the time. I will be in Rio, Sao Paulo, and Porto Alegre, each for a few days. What kind of climbing could I get away with on a short day trip? Bouldering or top-roping preferd, and probably nothing over 5.10. thanx

I live in Rio and I would be glad to help you. The problem is I broke my foot recently so I can't climb, but I know a lot of other climbers and I could get you in touch with them. More important, I could get you in touch with professional Guides, first because most people work on week days second because it's safer. Just to let you know, exept for ice, we have EVERYTHING in town: trad, aid, sport, boulder, and TR,( but people here don't go for TR that much).

:( that's too bad, because when you get here and look around you won't believe the number of rocks we have to climb.
