I read a review describing the rappel off Washerwoman as "spooky." My climbing partner inevitably describes climbs we're going to do as "fun" (BTW, I'm a new climber), and so far they always have been--though sometimes I curse him en route  --but he's described this climb as "difficult," because of exposure and the rappel. Anyone done the rappel off of Washerwoman? Want to weigh in on its "spookiness" factor?

That is a great picture. I looked at it when we were talking about doing the climb. Simultaneously tempting and terrifying. Is the rap one of those "straight off a ninety degree edge" kind of raps? I always get a little wiggy around those.

not really, actually the bolts are set on the wall below the ledge... a little weird to get to, but bomber... bring a camera... it's a very scenic climb looking on to monster tower and all across the white rim...beutiful...
