Okay, I missed these get togethers and people's approach to climbing back in the 70's but wanted to know if you have a history with Arizona's golden age of climbing. Here are a few things I've heard so far; The bouldering contest at the Parks Wall (followed by THE party), first ascents at Granite Mountain, the discovery of Paradise Forks, chalk vs. no chalk and other ethical debates, and generally having a lot of fun. Also I wanted to know if there would be any interest in having a reunion?

I hear they once stripped Tim Toula naked and dropped him off way out in the Mojave Desert for using chalk. There's also a rumor about a Syndicate smut library..any insight into this?

I could see how the library developed, since the front porch at Granite Mountain was the place to hang-out during the day. Plenty of time to have a little private time if you know what i mean. Recreational products of all sorts were probably abound before climbing became serious. Ha, those guys must have been trippin' I mean given the ratings, wasn't Magnolia TP originally rated 5.7? Dang, I wish there was someone on this site who could spin some swill before all kinds of rumors start flying around  . Yeah, the chalk no chalk stuff, the blindfolding to secret sites, and code words (Ajo, Arizona). I bet that Toula wonders why he was so ruthlessly treated to a one way ticket to the Movajo.

Find Scott, yes, Mr. Scott Baxter. He's still around Flagg... And no, Toula was never stripped naked and dropped in the desert... But it was a sad day when the first chalk showed up and an even sadder day when the Phnx white hand crowd found the Forks. It's not called Paradise Lost for nothing....
