Tried to update my profile and when I submit it says... "cannot update user table." Just thought I would pass it on.

"Find People" doesn't seem to be working properly either. Sometimes the entire user profile appears, sometimes just the routes added, and sometimes nothing. Curt

This is pretty weird. The cvs team was emailing a little today (maybe the Admin team can't remember) and trevor could not duplitacte the bug, so he could not fix it. I have been using the FIND PPL link all day today and has worked without a hitch....Sorry you folks are having probs.... but we are trying to figure out what is casuign this...just kinda hard when it can't re replicated to find out where exactly the bug is. after you get the error....copy down everything that it says in the error box...then hit the HELP button on the top of the exact same page...that will give teh development team an idea of your system that you are gettign the error report on and then they can dertermine a little better if it is a site bug or a browser (of one specific kind) bug or any coikidink there in. thanx for teh updates, and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I drank a few too many beers the other night. I thought I changed my password and just couldn't remember. I was thinking to myself, "I didn't think I was that drunk." Sorry you can't update either, but I don't think I'm losing my mind anymore.

Are those of you with this problem Mac Users? That would explain Trevor not being able to duplicate the problem. Just a wild guess... :?

In reply to: Are those of you with this problem Mac Users? That would explain Trevor not being able to duplicate the problem. Just a wild guess... :? Ok, this speculation is driving me nuts. The problem is easily reproducible on any platform because it's a database query error.

I'm having the same problem. Could not update users table. But things like the user browsing on a mac or pc shouldn't make any difference, like eric said, it's a database query error. But since it only affects some users (given that trevor was not able to duplicate the bug), there must be something in the system that treats some users differently. Maybe newer users are put in another DB than the older users? It seems like it's mainly newer users (like me, cathy...) who experience the problem. Could it be a full hard drive somewhere? Just thinking out loud here... :? Hope ya fix it, I'd like to add things to my profile soon, so I'll have something to do at work..!

Maybe newer users are put in another DB than the older users? Nope. A new user PM'ed me about the problem, so I tried to change it as well and was denied (and I'm an old school user). The link to my name in my husband's profile and on the top ten page was dead when I checked them recently. Maybe I was 'reborn' and am a new user again??

Did that, although I had to scroll down to the bottom of the screen for the helpdesk - there was no HELP button on the top of the exact same page. T

I looked at my profile and it was fine, but now it doesn't show my description. Everything else comes up fine, just my description doesn't come up. It was fine this morning for me, if that helps any.

OK, I made a change and I was hoping someone that had this problem (editing your profile) before could possibly test this again. I'd like to know if you're getting the error still. As for the profiles not showing up correctly, we made a change yesterday that stops certain types of HTML displaying. If you were trying to do something crazy like adjust backgrounds or css attributes, you may be out of luck now.

Thanks, Trevor. T
