i'm building a climbing wall in my 8ft tall basement and i have two different ideas that i cant decide between. so what do you guys think? One idea is to just have a 12ft wide wall that is all overhanging about 20-30 degrees. The other idea is to have an 8 ft wide wall that will start out at about 45 degrees then have a short roof, then another 45 degree section with a vertical board at the top. the total overhanging distance would be about 9ft and it would still be 8ft tall. So, if you had a choice, which would you build?

I think that simple is better. Why not just build a 45 degree wall with a roof out the top. This maximizes space and is easier to build. Any wall is a good wall.

Why is it either - or? If you have 12 feet of width, make one 8 ft wide section connected with a different angle 4 ft wide section which will give you a corner of sorts where they join. hold nazi

I agree with the guy about sections. I'd recommend 30 degrees--any more and it is just a jug-fest.
