I want rubber. Back in the good ol' days (a couple years ago) you could walk into any shop on the planet and buy a chunk of Stealth C4 big enough to get 4 half soles for 20 bucks. Or a chunk of Vibram XSV that was a little smaller. Now I can't find anything, I've been calling shops, nothing. REI didn't even know what I was talking about. They all tell me to send them in. Aaarrrgh!!!! I can do it myself for a little less than half price. If my rands are blown, I'll pay the resoler. If my rands are good, I can peel the old and stick the new good enough to climb on. A resole place is a waste of money if my rands aren't blown. Money isn't free you know. Who here knows of a shop in the Denver area that I can get rubber? Please post replies. Boulder or Ft. Collins locations are good too, I'm there pretty often. Stealth, Vibram, Monkey Sh!t, I don't care, as long as I can glue it to my shoes. The next person who tells me to just send them in to Rock and Resole (no offense, their work is OK) is going to get punched in the balls!!!!!

tigerbythetail has been black tarpitted. The tarpit will be removed when he tells me where I can get some rubber during my lunch break tomorrow.

You can get Mad Rubber #5 from Mad Rock Shoes. They sell it as a resole kit though. http://madrockshoes.com/html/other_stuff.html

Briefly, but I don't want to ship it and wait. I want to go pick it up at some shop tomorrow during lunch, resole my shoes that evening and be done with it.

OK I found it online, the reason why climbing rubber kits are so rare now is inflation. The price of a stealth kit is now $22, this is for a full sole. The old square style you could carve 4 half soles out of. Whether you need a full or a half sole, you can't use the leftover to resole another shoe now. You can get a professional resole (remember, this post is based on me not needing rands) for $23-28. So there you have it, it just isn't worth it to resole anymore. You can get a professional job for about the same price. Son of a biatch, I'm pissed.

In reply to: In reply to: you need to mellow out a bit dude Why's that? In reply to: Son of a biatch, I'm pissed. Being pissed for paying $25 for a resole. I don't read any rebuttals to this though, because I'm not actually serious about it. I'm just joking around havin' a good time. If somebody doesn't want to pay that much, then fine. I just figures ~$25 was the going rate nowadays.
