sometimes I post a reply to someone, and the reply appears before the post I am replying to... makes for comfusing reading...
Is this just happening to me?

It's a bug of some sort, though I'm not sure exactly what the heck is doing it. Someone else may be able to tell you better than me. :) At least it's relatively harmless.
