Ok, so I went all over Colorado and New Mexico climbing for a few weeks (awesome trip) and one place we stopped was Flagstaff to boulder in Colorado. I had read ahead of time from multiple places that the rock there would shred your fingers up and was worried about that since it was only the second place we stopped. However, the bouldering there kicked some ass and wow, why is everyone complaining? I'm a mostly gym climber since I live near richmond (no real rock) and that rock barely even hurt. I've climbed at McAffee's Knob once too, and that stuff hurt my fingers 10 times worse. Anyways, im done ranting.

In reply to: one place we stopped was Flagstaff to boulder in Colorado. Either my geography sucks, or you have a REALLY long reach.

That said, the rock there is kind of a gritty sandstone, so if you don't have your fingers callused and prepared for it, it will shred your tips. Not like Jtree, but it will cause some damage. I think your fingers were just prepared for the abuse. That or you didn't climb that hard ;)

In reply to: Either my geography sucks, or you have a REALLY long reach. heh, I meant we bouldered at Flagstaff.. not the city boulder. That and mcaffee's knob rock still seemed much sharper than this stuff. I really liked flagstaff.
