Here is my first attempt at a post. I hope this works. Some background, I know I violated the rule of 3rds! Had to work around other climbers that would have been distracting in the photo. Thanks for comments in advance. Glad to be here. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=21552 I shoot with a Nikon N90s. This was a Nikkor 35-80 mm lens. I don't remember the film or exposure details.

well i guess i'll be the first to respond, the fact that you violated the rule of 3rds doesn't really bug me that much, i kina like how its proportioned. good job on "capturing the moment". It seems kinda drab though, maybe making it a bit darker and adjusting the tones a bit, just some basic photoshopping really. Very nice picture though!

Not bad. The composition is nice, although the way that long draw runs directly to him is a tad distracting. Still, it's a nice capture. I like how the climber's butt is above the mountain/hill in the background instead of blending into it. The major weakness is that the pic is washed out. With rich, saturated colors (esp. in the sky), it'd be pretty good.

Thanks for the comments. I must admit that I was very disapointed with the colors being so washed out. The forest foliage was beautiful and I was hoping to capture it. Unfortunately I only had portra 160 VC film (which I would have thought would be a good film for such shots) but I was wrong. No modifications were made to the scan. I will work with photoshop to see if I can enhance the colors a bit. Thanks again. Wojtek

In reply to: portra 160 VC film is it a negative film? are you scanning the film itself? you loose alot on the print, the negative contains much more information.
In reply to: No modifications were made to the scan. colors do change, contrast do change. Basically scanning is a modification itself.
