Hi, I am a german student and I will be at Berkeley the next four months. I started climbing a year ago in France and have no problems with 5.9 (5c-6a french system). I have all the equipement -- but not here in the States :( But I haven't forgotten my shows and other basic stuff. :lol:
I love climbing and it would be great if there would be anybody who wants to introduce me to the american way of outdoor climbing!! :D (or indoor, if it's raining) I live near North Berkeley BART, have a bike, but no car...
I'm also looking for some sport clubs or assocations that offers climbing tours during the weekends. I have just found Rock-Rendezvous.org.
Anyways, I'll do anything to get a break from my studies :wink:, so just write me an e-mail.

good luck finding partners.
Even if you don't find someone, there is great bouldering just up the road at Indian and Mortar rocks.

Hey!
If I can manage a day off sometime, I wouldnt mind showing you some stuff.
Indian Rock, and some of the surrounding areas are fun and close by, MT.D is another close area with nice climbing.

Yeah - check out Iron Works in Berkeley for partners.
Im not in the East Bay anymore but Indian Rocks is your best bet for bouldering. To do any real California CLimbing though - get on a bus to Yosemite or Lovers Leap.

I began climbing in Germany...lived there for 9 years. Now I'm in Monterey. You're welcome to go climbing with me and my partners any time. We usually climb Pinnacles National Monument on Sundays, or take trips to Sonora, Needles, Lovers Leap...etc. on some weekends.
