I'm sorry... I was marooned in Detroit for a year and a half. I will give you the advice I have given everyone else there...go to Ontario...it will be your only solace. Not a ton of established bouldering, but a lot of potential. Lion's Head, a premier sport destination, is 3.5 hrs from detroit. As for Detroit and Ann Arbor...planet rock is going to be your game :(....at least that I know about...

last month i was at grand ledge. i didn't think it was all that bad, though being restricted to the SE michigan area doesn't provide for much. some half way decent bouldering and all top roping. but im at Planet Rock as much as i can afford to be anyways.

There's some amazing stuff in the UP, and more going up every day. But, it's at least five hours to any of it for you :(
