We're trying to decide on the best place (weather) for an end of Sept. climbing trip. Any info (routes, camping) would be appreciated as we need to book ASAP! Dana

Tahoe: Eagle point campground in emerald bay. Camp site #29 if possible.Tons of climbing @ emerald bay/eagle lake area Tons of climbing 30 min away at lovers leap, you could also camp there and spend your whole trip at the leap.

Well, Tahoe tends to get a lot of Californians. Colorado is just full of Coloradans. You don't wannt to deal with that kind of bullschit. For the best experience, then, I suggest City of Rocks. Way better scene. You're welcome.

You can climb year round here at the Pie Shop and Sugarloaf. It wont be too cold by Oct. to climb at Lovers Leap or emerald bay but fall temps will have arrived by then. Order the Tahoe guide book by Mike Carville.
