If you are looking for information on climbing or just some people to hook up with in Southern Illinois, post your interests/questions/replies here. I have met so many people at the Rec Center in recent weeks who are itching to find others interested in climbing with little success. A major problem is, even with the vast amount of climbing available down here, we have no established clubs or orginizations for those interested in this amazing sport. If you were to ask me, I would hastilly blurt "Rediculous!".

I believe there is a club/coalition/organization/whatever. The Illinois Climbers Association I think

Noobie here...just joined the forum.
This is the first post that I've seen related to SO. IL. I am originally from Herrin (10mi. or so, east of C'Dale) but live in Chicago.
Coming down to visit the friends and family this weekend (Sept. 24th - 26th) and was planning on going to Giant City or FernCliffe, by myself, to climb. Anyone want to get together?
