im thinking about building myself a wall, ceiling is 7ft, and its going to be about 5 ft wide. i was thinking about the first 4ft at 90, then 2ft 1/2 at 80, and finally 2 1/2ft at 20. At first i was thinking about the first foot being vertical, to a 1 ft section at 40, and then another two feet vertical, and if i wanted secure a piece of plywood at the bottom to exclude the indentation(mostly for sit starts) though im rethinking that. Also, how do i determine how many t-nuts, and where to place them. Any input on my wall design -chris

5'x7' - that's a pretty small wall... I'd make it adjustable, should be really easy for a wall that size.

if i make it so i can change the angles, i will only have a 7 foot section to climb, instead of a 9 foot section. thats why i was wondering, would it be worth it to make it adjustable? -chris

here is a link to an article I wrote detailing the construction of my adjustable wall. A few other people threw in there 2 cents as well. Should you chose not to go adjustable, the most beneficial angles (suggested by Eric Horst author of several climbing performance books) are 30-45 degrees overhung. Definately an intensive workout.
