AND BOY ARE MY ARMS TIRED! *rimshot* OH... MY... ... .. GAWD!1 i am in love. i love indian creek. this was my first trip. first of many. i wish i could stay forever. i got flogged on some routes. i succeeded on others. i climbed until my hands bled, then taped over the blood and climbed until the other parts bled, then waited a day and climbed more. my hands are now swollen and useless. i am, in fact, typing this with my tounge. heh. we did routes that are known globally. we did routes that the guidebook doesn't even report. they all kicked ass until the break of dawn. pics to follow. i wish i was still there. i miss the creek.

Welcome to the fold. How long before you lose taste for the straight as an arrow cracks and use what you've learned on desert towers though? /dreaming of the Primrose Dihedral

There`s two kinds of climbers in this world. Those who have been to Indian Creek and those who wanna go. But then there are those nancy boy face climbers who hate crack, we won`t count those climbers in the stats eh.

According to some other threads around this site it is elitism to climb the cracks at Indian Creek using cams. They should all be bolted so people who don't know how to place gear can go there.

WHAT?!!! No bolts? Where do you clip your quickdraws? If your hands and feet are in the crack, how will there be room for gear too? He he...

This was the first Halloween season I haven't been to the Creek in something like five or six years. I miss it. Like very few other places I've been, something about Indian Creek is just magical, and unexplained; last spring I just hung out without a car, and one of my most memorable days was just hanging out, getting sun, stretching, hydrating, in the quiet. It's not boring to just do nothing; rather, the nothing feels good. When I've been there with a small crew, with plenty of gear to share, I felt like I could always get in enough pitches, and they're all hard enough that they usually told me when to stop. Looks like a Thanksgiving trip is in the works...

In reply to: Terrible, tired joke. Blah blah blah, spray spray spray, etc. i miss the creek. Dude, wait until the first major snowfall, and you'll have completely forgotten about your trip. (You see, this is my way of concealing my jealousy. Is it working?)

It takes effort and dedication for one to get their crackclimbing ability to a point where one can enjoy how awesome Indian Creek is. Anyone who loves climbing crack should work on their skills and go there. There are serious access issues there so it's just fine that there are thousands of climbers out there who have no interest in climbing Indian Creek. Welcome to the club bro. I am counting the days until my next pilgrimage to the Creek in April.

I'm sitting here at school knocking my knees in excitment - just two weeks and we'll be in the desert, staring up, hearts beating in nervous excitment, starting up. It all looks too good to be true - almost plastic lookin, like the kind of climb one might indulge in a dream. Enless plugging, endless beauty and no alarm clock to take it all away - hurray! Can't wait to see the photos!

I have extra tears saved up to shed. the forks are easier on you. a bit (dare I say it) more bouldery, and they require nowhere near the endurance that the creek's 160 footers require. oh, and congratulations, elvis. I wanna see a ticklist, so I can thus live vicariously through your exploits. hope to get out there in march.

Doesn't sound NEARLY as safe as a nice reliable BOLT!   Placing gear is one of the coolest parts of climbing desert splitters. They seem to be taylor-made for camming units. I have never understood that whole pre-placed gear gig. Maybe if I was climbing insanely sick cracks, but I would still go in with the intention of doing it clean, placing gear at some point.

I agree that the stronger you get, the more Indian Creek has to offer and the more enjoyable the routes and the whole experience become... every trip I've made has been better than the last...
